Mike Wallace is an outstanding rock guitarist with classic rock influences. Mike currently plays with Marc Bonilla in Dragonchoir. He also plays in the band Smith, who plays modern country rock. In addition, Mike does music for video games through his business, FirePan Music.

​Mike is working on his own album that is a true labor of love project for him.

Allen Hinds is multi-faceted in blues, R&B, fusion, and jazz. Allen has a RedPlate Blackline, that is completely stock. He is a composer, guitarist, and teacher at the Musician’s Institute in LA.

Bill Champlin is a rock guitarist with a R&B approach. Bill loves the very “real sound” from his BlackVerb and finds that it sounds like a Marshall when you want it but is more controllable.

Depending on what guitar Bill is using, he uses the clean channel mostly for R&B rhythm and the drive channel for rock rhythm and then adds the mid and boost for lead.

Doug Bossi is rooted in rock with elements of pop and jazz. Doug has several RedPlates and shared his go-to settings with us.  We’ve listed those here for anyone who wants to try them out on their Magica. Doug is currently working on a 2nd CD for Echo Circle and a new Los Lobotomys CD comes out this year. Doug replaced Steve Lukather in the band and co-wrote the CD.

RedPlate: How would you say your RedPlate Amp has helped your sound and/or technique?
DB: Man, Redplate amps are stunning…I have always felt like I have hidden behind pedals with every other amp…this amp simply needs nothing added…it’s perfect for whatever tone you are after.  They sound sort of 3D and the way the notes sing through it makes you really want to play without being distracted by bad tone.  They project really well at loud or soft volumes…I know everyone loves the modeling stuff, but nothing compares to an analog Tube amp tuned to perfection like the Redplates. I own 4 and eyeing a 5th now ha-ha …you can say I’m fairly addicted.

RedPlate: What are your “go-to” settings on your RedPlate?
DB: Well, you really can’t dial a bad tone…my Magica T current settings are:

Mark Searcy plays blues, and he sometimes incorporates elements of jazz and rock into the mix.  Mark plays a RedPlate BlackVerb88 and a RedPlate RP50. Since his last few releases have been more progressive, Mark is thinking of a traditional blues album for his next project.

Ty Curtis was the first Artist in Spotlight featured at RedPlate Amps online. 

As a blues rock player, Ty has been on the scene for years perfecting his music. Ty, a long-time RedPlate Family member, usually plays a BlackVerb100, but also owns a BlackVerb50. For his next project, he will be releasing a live album, a new studio album in 2018, and a tour in Europe and the USA respectively.
