Here at RedPlate, we think of our players as family.
We want to hear from them and celebrate their success.
Here is the current Artist in Spotlight:

Neil Citron

We recently reached out to Grammy Award winning, Neil Citron, and asked him a few questions so that everyone might have the chance to learn more about him.

Neil plays a RedPlate Magica100 and a BlackVerb88.

RedPlate: How would you describe your genre of music?
NC:  Hard Rock to Melodic Metal.

RedPlate: Tell us a bit about your playing style and some of your influences.
NC: I’m mostly a Rock/Blues player. Loved Jeff Beck, Eric Claption, Lesley West, but I went crazy when I heard Ritchie Blackmore in Deep Purple.

RedPlate: Do you have a favorite venue to play or maybe a most memorable gig?
NC: I have fond memories playing a place called Marina Palace in Los Angeles when I was a kid. Three bands with a revolving stage. One band finishes and the other goes on while the stage rolls into position.

RedPlate: How would you say your RedPlate Amp has helped your sound and/or technique?
NC: RedPlates are the perfect blend of Old and New. It’s so clear, you can hear all the little bits, while it’s so in your face, you sound like a giant. I have become a cleaner picker from using RedPlate Amps!

RedPlate: What are your “go-to” settings on your RedPlate?
NC: I like things DARK, so (Treble 10 o’clock–Middle same–Bass 1 o’clock–Mode 2nd to the last from the right) super thick. Bright switch 0 and no presence with the mini switches in the back set to single coil for the extra chub.

RedPlate: How would you describe the RedPlate sound?
NC: Thick, Clean, Full-Body, tone with overdrive for sustain, not super distorted, CREAMY, SILKY, TONE FOR DAYS!.

RedPlate: What effects are a must have for you and are they in front of the amp and/or in the effects loop?
NC: I use delay and reverb both in the loop, but sparingly. I have some settings with both off and some with just delay and some with just reverb. Mostly to enhance, not to define.

RedPlate: What is your next project?
NC: I’m just finishing up my 3rd CD for my band, Black Cat 6, and starting a new project called Liquid Candy in January 2022. This will feature special guests like Billy Sheehan, Robbie Pag, and many others!
